Englishmen Enjoy Eel Experience

GLENBAWN Dam recently played host to two guys from Manchester, England, who travelled Down Under in search of eels.
Apparently they write for a magazine called Eel and travel the world doing eel-fishing videos. Quite weird, really.
``Neon" Reon Shearman, from Aberdeen Tackle, said they fished dams up and down Australia for seven weeks but enjoyed Glenbawn and St Clair the most.
The largest eel they caught was a 30-pound monster at Glenbawn, lured off the bank with fish heads. That's bloody big, but nothing compared to the Jurassic Park 48lb specimen featured in a photo up at Glenbawn.
That is one scary eel.
Ross Mackaway, from Mackaway Tackle in Singleton, also encountered these mad Englishmen.
``Mate, they sat out in the lightning storms and said it was fabulous," Ross reported. ``Apparently they don't get storms like that in England.
``I told them they might catch an electric eel in those conditions."
Good one, Roscoe.
Apart from eels and Englishmen, Glenbawn is holding good bass on the deep lures. Trolling is the go.
Lostock Dam has been on fire for bass and catfish using worms and grasshoppers.
The rivers round the Upper Hunter have been firing well for bass on surface lures.
Beach: General consensus among the experts is the whiting are biting on Stockton.
Tailor are about as well, with the odd jewfish thrown in for good measure.
